World Chase Tag Rules Explainer – Unreal Engine 5

We recently had the thrill of working with World Chase Tag – the adrenaline-fuelled sport that fuses the speed and agility of Parkour with the childhood classic game of Tag, turning it into a high-stakes, high-octane competition.

As one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, World Chase Tag is attracting new fans every day. But with its unique format and rapid gameplay, newcomers need a clear, engaging way to understand the rules. That’s where we came in.

Crafting a Clear & Exciting Rules Explainer

Our goal was simple: create a rules explainer video that’s as dynamic and entertaining as the sport itself, while making the gameplay instantly understandable for first-time viewers.

To achieve this, we combined:

  • Real match footage from multiple World Chase Tag events, capturing the athleticism of the athletes and showing the various angles the viewer will see during a live broadcast of the sport.

  • 3D animatics built in Unreal Engine 5, allowing us to break down complex rules with crystal-clear visuals.

Why Unreal Engine 5?

We chose Unreal Engine 5 for its ability to render in real time, enabling rapid iteration with the World Chase Tag team. This meant we could quickly refine animations, adjust camera angles, and deliver a polished final product without long render waits – keeping the creative process fast, collaborative, and fun.

From Web to TV

The finished rules explainer was featured on the World Chase Tag website and broadcast during their ESPN TV episodes, reaching a global audience and helping thousands of new fans jump straight into the action.

This project was the perfect blend of sports media production, motion graphics, and real-time 3D animation – and we couldn’t be prouder of the result.
